Hon. Emmet Cosgrove (Ret.)
Experience:
Judicial Hon. Emmet L. Cosgrove served 21 years as Judge of the Superior Court of the State of Connecticut. He has held civil trial assignments in Windham, New Haven, and New London Counties. He served as the Civil Presiding Judge in New London Counties. In these positions, he tried medical malpractice, product liability, motor vehicle, premises liability, insurance coverage, sexual assault, construction, contract, and property disputes. In his capacity, presiding judge Cosgrove pre-tried and mediated over a thousand cases per year.
Private Practice:
Between 1975 and 2001 Judge Cosgrove maintained a private practice active in the areas of personal injury, insurance defense, municipal law, probate appeals, banking, contract and construction disputes. He was a Board Certified Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
